The Memory of the just is blessed ... Proverbs 10:7

Elect Lady Brenda Joyce King-Martineau
August 9, 1947 - January 30, 1999

Brenda Joyce King-Martineau was born on the Sabbath Day, Saturday, August 9, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD, to the late Missionary Charlotte King and Deacon Lee King, the fourth daughter of 10 children.

She was educated at the North Street Elementary School, South Potomac Junior High, and graduated in the class of 1965 from Hagerstown High School. The E. J. Fennel Sewing Factory in Hagerstown, MD employed her for many years while attending school, and after she graduated. Sewing and cooking were her hobbies.

In 1967 she moved to Atlantic City, New Jersey, and soon after she was led to the Lord by her cousin; Missionary Mary Burke. She became a member of The Holy Church of The Living God, under the leadership of the late Mother Minnie Hopkins.

After receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit in a high noon Prayer Service, she undertook many responsibilities such as: Pastor’s Aide President, Nurse’s Guild President, Sabbath School Teacher, Sabbath Meal Dining Room Worker, Church Sexton and her special love, assisting as one of the Pastor’s personal seamstresses, and that’s just to name a few.

May 4, 1970, she married Minister Tulfaari Martin Martineau, at the Holy Church of the Living God in Norristown, PA. In this union they nurtured and cared for three children; Delania, Marthianne, and Joel.

In 1996 she was instructed by God to relocate to work along side her son, Joel, in ministry service, after 29 years of faithful and dedicated service to one church.

Saturday, December 17, 1997, Mother Martineau was installed as Shepherd Mother of our local ministry, and given the honor "Elect Lady" on behalf of the Chief Apostle, the late, Bishop F.C. Scott of the House of God P.G. of T., Lexington, KY. The anointing that rested upon the ceremony confirmed the call of God upon her life.

Following the sacred ceremony of episcopal elevation upon her son on November 1, 1998, she was officially declared General Mother and International Supervisor of Woman for the Greater Israel Apostolic Fellowship of Churches, Inc.

During her brief illness in late December 1998 through January of 1999, she spake these words "... Pray that the will of the Lord be done ... God is God, and He will answer my prayer."

Her favorite saying was "Prayer Brings About A Change" and "Prayer Changes Things and People Too." Her favorite song was "Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus" and "Jesus I Appreciate You."

Elect Lady Mother Martineau went to sleep on the Sabbath, January 30, 1999, in her home in Atlantic City, NJ. She was laid to rest on Thursday, February 4, 1999, from Evangelical Fellowship Full Gospel Church, Pleasantville, NJ, following a Home Going Celebration. A dear family friend, Dr. Georgia Smith of Philadelphia, PA, officiated the services.

She leaves behind in hope that they will meet her again in Glory: 1 son, Pastor J.D. Martineau "Joey" and his wife Rhonda, 2 daughters, Delania and Marthianne "Annie", 9 grandchildren, three great-grands, 2 sisters, 4 brothers, 3 sister-in-laws, countless prayer partners, saints and friends.

Today with uplifted hearts, we salute as an Intercessor and Mother in Israel "Elect Lady Brenda Joyce King Martineau" ~ This Holy Woman of God, will never be forgotten.

Sleep on mother, take your rest, we all love you, but God loved you best.
